Gauteng Gambling Board – Gambling Regulators in Gauteng
The Gauteng Gambling Board is a statutory body established in terms of section 3 of the Gauteng Gambling Act, No 4 of 1995 as amended.
The main functions of the GGB are to :
Oversee and control gambling activities in Gauteng, including:
- Licensing of individuals and entities to conduct gambling and related activities.
- Registering of persons engaged in such activities.
- Approval and registering of all gaming devices.
- Collecting prescribed taxes and levies for the Gauteng Province and other specified beneficiaries.
- Manage and administer the Sports Development Fund
- Advise the MEC on matters relating to gambling.
